January 31st

Yosemite Video of the Day:

I ordered a credit card today. No plans on using it, but people are telling me I should build a credit record, so I listened and took action.

I deleted my facebook bookmark. This is big news. The same thing happened with AIM a couple months back. After a while people stop using it to talk to other people and just focus on spicing up their profile page, uploading pictures and videos, or, worst of all, using it solely for questionnaires that they can then tag people in to attract attention. It's like they want people to know they are there without taking a real intiative to say "hi." So, so long facebook. I'll still use you sometimes, but I'm fading out our relationship.

Twelfth Night was awesome. Sir Toby used the same costume I used. But he got to use a pillow for his obesity. It worked perfectly, too. Mrs. Doherty made some smart revisions I might say. Anyways, I definitely reccommend seeing it, especially if you were in it last time. It's good to keep old memories alive like that.

It is worth mentioning this clock Katie got me for Christmas. It runs on water. You heard me right, it's an H2O powered clock. But what is even more remarkable about it is that while it's supposed to have a 2 week lifespan before re-watering, it's been going now for 5 weeks. It's incredible! I come home each weekend expecting it to be dead. And each weekend I am proved wrong.

I depositied 68 dollars in change today. That was fun.

Not as much fun as when I bought my gamecube with quarters, but still up there.

Schedule!

I can't believe I haven't seen any of the movies up for best picture this year. I mean, I meant to see a couple of them. I just never got around to it. And usually I watch movies once they come out on dvd, but all of them came out in theatres too recently for that technique to work out.

January 30th

I have a cactus in my room. It isn't, like, a real cactus. Well, I mean it is, it just doesn't look like it. Here let me show:

But regardless of how it looks, the cactus is dying.

I can't keep a cactus alive.

Today I questioned my life.

Twelfth Night is happening at La Paz tonight. That is going to be quite an interesting experience. Secretly I hope the person who plays the part I played 5 years ago sucks. But that's mean. So I don't actually hope that happens. But if it does, I might just not complain.

I sympathize with the guy though. 500 something lines, all in Shakespeare. It's tough! You know, I really don't know why I got cast as him either. Sir Toby is supposed to be a fat lively person. I'm skinny, introverted, and kind of boring. It didn't help that Kevin was my double either. Way to show me up, douche.

But not really. It was all good fun. Except OH MAN I FORGOT! I had braces during that show. And during The Boyfriend. MAN, that sucked. Horribly. Because I had to wear the rubber bands, but during the show I was supposed to be eating all of the time. So I had to switch out my rubberbands everytime I went on stage. How's that for a repressed memory.

Today is an ugly day. Like, it's a bad hair day, yeah. But that's not..that..unusual. I just do not feel up for a public appearance today, if you catch my drift. hahah. but really.

ART!!

January 29th

Today was the last day of interterm. wait..Interterm? Don't worry, I will explain. In a nutshell, Interterm is composed of 12 people gathering together 6 hours a day for drawing and group discussions. It lasts 4 weeks, and today, it came to an end.

Although it really wasn't that bad. It was actually enjoyable. I will miss you, Foundations of Art class of January 5th to January 29th 2009. My best wishes.

My teacher was really cool. Brian Cooper. Suave, polite, tough, and smart.

I got into some Amazon.com addictions recently. It doesn't happen often, but every once in a while, I just can't control myself. In the items I purchased though, one stands out as a gem. Blind Pilot's album, "3 rounds and a sound," gets all of my praise. Seriously, youtube/myspace them or whatever-- they are worth your time. Also amoung the loot, lies this awesomeness. Unnecessary? Perhaps. Clunky and ineffective? Debateable. One thing is for sure though- they definitely cost me 8 bucks with shipping.

Like I said, sometimes I just can't be controlled.

I'm a rebel.

With a serious buying-related psychological disorder.

I went to Chickfila today for the first time (pronounced Chick Filet.) That was kind of too weird for me. It's a fast food chain built upon the premise that people need more chicken in their diet. Every item is somehow chicken-based, and it just felt not...so...okay. I don't know. Like, I mean, chicken is awesome but..really? Shouldn't there be a limit? There were these cartoons of happy chickens everywhere in the restaurant too. So you see the smiles of that which you have had killed and grilled and eaten.

Also
Holy crap right?

I decided I might as well post some art while I'm at it. I promise I won't go overboard with it, but every once in a while I like to put stuff on the interwebs.

Yeah, actually. Just that one picture will do. That is my sum of the past 4 weeks.

Now that interterm is in the bag, the actual spring semester is about to begin. Why I bring this up is because I need your help. I'm going to be in the intro film class this term and every two weeks I have to write, film, and edit a movie. I think I have almost everything covered, but I do have one problem: actors. Many of you who read this blog will probably be victim of me selling you a part time acting career. I say this now so you can prepare yourself for what is to come, and also so you can start getting in character for your parts.

Beginning

I have decided to create a blog for the next one month. I don't really know why, I just have a sudden urge, and I think it's time I did something like this. But it is important that I make one thing clear before this hodown begins: I haven't cosistently done anything daily since ever. This is a big deal. Well not really. But to me. Sort of. But this is going to be fun, so you might as well stick around.

I think I should take some kind of oath so I don't just forget about this tomorrow. NO! I'll make a list of promises. Citizen Kane style.

1.) I promise to make a respectably-sized entry everyday.
2.) I promise not to make filler posts with surveys and questionaries.
3.) I promise that I will stop making posts on February 28th, 2009.

The last one is just in case I get carried away. Which I just might.

Also:

4.) I promise that I won't use spellcheck.

Might not seem like a big thing, but I think I'm getting too comfortable with tools that check my spelling and grammar. See like grammar. I think it's grammar. But it could be grammer...How could I possibly not know this at the age of 18! It is a tragedy, one that I hope to remedy. Okay, how about this.

4.) I promise that I won't use spellcheck, until after I've already made my post.

That way my errors will be public and I'll see every single one of them, and then burn in the pain of my embarassment.

Also, you can expect plently of charts and graphs. You know how much I like those. And pictures and videos!

Yes. This is going to be swell.
